Maintenance
Keeping your motor properly maintained will insure more time enjoying your boat. The maintenance schedule is for engines that are not under warranty. Each manufacturer has a set maintenance schedule that you must adhere to so as not to void your warranty. If you have any questions about your warranty maintenance schedule please let me know and I will go over your specifics.
Waterpumps should be done every 1 to 2 years or 100 to 200 hours, depending on what comes first.
Oil and gearlube should be changed once a year or every 100 hours, whichever comes first.
Thermostats and poppet valves should be inspected yearly and the seals changed once a year, when the thermostat is inspected, but it should be changed every 2 to 3 years or 200 to 300 hours.
Spark plugs should be changed yearly on 2 stroke motors but every 2 years for most 4 strokes.
Anodes should be inspected every year and changed as needed.
Fuel filters should all be changed once a year or more often.
