Fuel Filters

Fuel filters need to be changed every year.  You will find filters on your engine but you should also have a water seperating filter installed between your fuel supply and your engine.

The number one problem we see, on a daily basis are problems caused by fuel.  Ethanol, old fuel, old fuel lines, old tanks and fuel left sitting.  I have one thing to say about old fuel, DUMP IT!  You can not add new gas to old gas and make it new again.  That is like taking old milk and adding some new milk to it and expecting for the milk to be good again.  Old fuel has to go.  When fuel sits it loses octane.  A fuel stabilizer will greatly slow that process down.  But even gas with stabalizer will eventually go bad.  When fuel sits it becomes thicker, and in a small area like the bowl for your carb, it becomes thick and gummy. If you have this old gas left in your fuel bowl often times if you run the engine before you clean this out that will then get up in to the jets of your carbs.  Get rid of old gas, it is not worth the problems it will cause you.

Running old gas through an EFI (electronic fuel injected) is an expensive rebuild.   I can never say it enough, get rid of all old gas!
